  • For our Foundational Yacht Chef Training:
    No professional experience or qualifications needed. Our training is designed for both passionate home cooks and experienced chefs. Whether you’re just starting or transitioning from a land-based kitchen, we’ll equip you with everything you need to succeed as a yacht chef.

    However, it is a great idea to look into STCW training center nearest to you and dates that you’re available. It is compulsory to complete this maritime specific safety training before you can get a job contract so best to get it as soon as possible.

    For our Advanced Yacht Chef Training:
    Suitable for chefs currently in the industry. 3-5+ years experience is ideal so you can keep up with the pace and techniques in the workshops. Even a prior short culinary training would be helpful.

  • We pride ourselves on being the only yacht chef training that covere ALL aspects of the job. You’ll receive in-person training covering galley management, provisioning, menu planning, yacht etiquette, and deckhand duties and of course our go to charter recipes from breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and desserts.   • If you wish to cancel for any reason this is the procedure & policy:

    you must email and have a confirmed response of cancellation by us. email hello@anchorandapron.co

    • within 12 weeks of training start date full refund minus €800 deposit

    • within 8 weeks 50% refund

    • anything less there is no refund unfortunately

    To protect against any loss we recommend you obtain related insurance cover.

  • You will receive a confirmation email from us (please check spam in the case you can’t find it)

    Then shortly after we will continue to send updates with more information and create a group chat closer to the date.

    You will also create a login for our Members Only Portal which will have all our best resources to be covered on training (bonus & recipes from previous trainings!)

  • Book your flight to Palma Airport (PMI).

    You will need to get a taxi from Palma Airport to the villa on day of arrival if you are not able to get our free transfer (usually around 4:30pm on check in day). The free transfer info will be communicated via email and whatsapp

    You will be sent the exact location of the venue 2 weeks prior in your Welcome email, with clear instructions.

  • Check in at villa 5pm on the training start date

    If your flight arrives earlier, we suggest you find a lovely cafe in the center of town to enjoy. It is not possible to drop off your bags or come earlier sorry. We begin with a lovely welcome dinner at 7pm

    On the final day, there are no lessons and you have the morning to leisurely pack up and connect with your new cheffie friends! Most students have made plans together to explore or ride share to airport.

  • You only need to organise yourself, personal belongings, beach towel, passport, visa and clothes. A packing list will be sent to you 2 weeks prior in a welcome email.

    You DO NOT need to bring any knives or kitchen equipment (unless you wish to do so), everything for training is supplied.

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included in the price.

    All ingredients we cook with during lessons are included in the price.

    These meals will mostly be created during lessons with instructors, otherwise supplied by us (prepared earlier).

    If you book and you have dietaries we need to cater for, we can ABSOLUTELY do that. please just let us know ahead of time.

  • We provide ongoing support, including help with recruitment, resume building, interview prep, and connecting you with industry insiders to land your first job.

    The Caribbean season that we provide recruitment support with begins in October each year however you will start applying and working through the admin process from as early as June.

    We can also talk about any other career pathways with you.

  • No culinary certifications are required to become a yacht chef. However, you must obtain an STCW and medical certificates. Read about STCW here and ideally have completed it before you commence a&a training.

  • Foundational Yacht Chef Training
    2 Weeks || Villa & Yacht based || €3950 - All-Inclusive

    Advanced Yacht Chef Training
    1 Week || Villa based || €3200 - All-Inclusive

    Our payment plan options works in cohesion with how many months out we are.

    4 months out, the option to pay the training cost in 4 parts
    3 months out, the option to pay the training cost in 3 parts and so on.

    * the payment plan option works out slightly more than paying in full.

  • It could take 2 weeks to 3 months, but don’t worry the whole process can happen virtually. Thanks to our industry connections and career guidance, you don’t need to spend thousands waiting around in a yachting hub.

    For example in the BVI work permits or visas processes require some time and planning.

    RECOMMENDED: Have all your documents ready. More often than not we have jobs waiting for you but students don’t have all the necessary documents we covered on training updated.
